Tasks and Actions


The developing of the system is articulated in many sequential tasks that allow to organize the work and in specific working activities. The blue lines are the milestones of the projecton on which we are working. Now, we are focused on the Work Package 2 that consists of the design of the architecture. The next tasks will be the implementation and testing.

Work Package 2 tasks

2.1 Examination and definition of the user needs and requirements
2.1.1 Analyze the user needs and requirements (UNR) regarding the semantic retrieval of EO data
2.1.2 Analyze the user needs (UNR) regarding the added value service of the alerting on the Copernicus program and other EO programs
2.1.3 Analyze the user requirements (UNR) regarding the added value service of the retrieval on the Copernicus program and other EO programs
2.1.4 Provide questioners to end-users to form/update the UNR
2.1.5 Formulate the user needs and requirements in scenarios
2.2 Examination and definition of the ontology to be used
2.2.1 Literature review of the ontology and linked data approaches
2.2.2 Determine how semantic queries are performed based on the results from Task 2.1
2.3 Examination of the RS possible algorithms that will be used in the SEO-DWARS
2.3.1 Literature review of the possible remote sensing algorithms that will serve as indicators for the automatic metadata extraction
2.3.2 Finalization of the remote sensing algorithms that will be actually used in the SEO-DWARS
2.3.3 Adaptation of the algorithms at the specifications of the COPERNICUS and MERIS images that will be used
2.4 Define the structure and data mining algorithms of the EO image metadata
2.4.1 Analysis for the optimum way to structure metadata produced by algorithms from Task 2.3 with respect to the ontology structure from Task 2.2
2.4.2 Literature review of data mining algorithms to harvest metadata
2.4.3 Analysis of data mining algorithms to optimally harvest the created metadata and create semantic queries and web alerts
2.5 Design the architecture, connectivity and interoperability of the SEO-DWARS, taking into account the INSPIRE guidelines
2.5.1 Literature review for the design of the architecture of the SEO-DWARS to be implemented in WP 3
2.5.2 Analysis on the design of the architecture of the SEO-DWARS to be implemented in WP 3
2.5.3 Analysis on the connectivity of the SEO-DWARS to external open-data sources (INSPIRE, Copernicus, etc) will be performed
2.6 Design the front-end of the SEO-DWARS
