Calibration and Validation of the SEO-DWARS

In the present WP CUT, as leader, has the responsibility of the calibration and validation of the RS algorithms in SEO-DWARS. UniBa along with i-Sea have the responsibility of quantifying the links between the ontology and the extracted metadata. CloudSigma has the responsibility of the calibration and validation of the data mining algorithms. NTUA andPKH have the responsibility of the validation of the retrieval and alerting of the system correspondingly. The activities will be performed in CUT premises in Limassol (Cyprus), in CloudSigma premises in Zurich (Switzerland), and in PKH premises in Athens (Greece). The activities constitute from the secondments: PKI, CloudSigma, TWT, PKH to CUT, NTUA, UnAeg, CUT to PKIUniBa, CUT, UnAeg, NTUA to CloudSigma, UniBa to i-Sea In each secondment the corresponding staff are trained initially to the complementary knowledge of the hosting organization and later on perform collaborative research to achieve the objectives of the WP.

  • Task 4.1: Calibrate and validate the RS algorithmsThe goal is to calibrate and validate the RS algorithms that were implemented in Task 3.1.
  • Task 4.2: Quantify the relationship between the ontology and the extracted metadataThe specific links (quality and quantity) between the ontology and the extracted metadata will be created and validated using the results from Task 3.2 and experimentation for each research topic.
  • Task 4.3: Calibrate and validate the data mining algorithmsThe goal is to calibrate and validate the data mining algorithm that were implemented in Task 3.1.
  • Task 4.4: Validate the quality and accuracy of the semantic queriesBased on the results from Tasks 4.1 to 4.3 validation experiments of the quality and accuracy of the semantic queries will performed. The validation experiments are made for each research topic with the complementary knowledge of the marine domain, semantic, and systemic partners.
  • Task 4.5: Validate the quality and accuracy of the web alertsBased on the results from Tasks 4.1 to 4.3 validation experiments of the quality and accuracy of the web alerts will performed. The validation experiments are made for each research topic (Table 1) with the complementary knowledge of the marine domain, semantic, and systemic partners.
